The Fourth Industrial Revolution is the fourth major industrial era since the initial Industrial Revolution of the 18th century. It is characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres, collectively referred to as cyber-physical systems. So, can be described as the advent of “cyber-physical-systems” involving entirely new capabilities for people and machines. The Survey Report titled, Deep Shift - Technology Tipping Points and Social Impact, published in September 2015 by the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council On The Future of Software and Society identified The 21 Technology Shifts that are fast changing our world. We will explore these shifts in subsequent episodes. During his Promulgation of the Minimum Wage in Soweto on the 8th December 2018, the President of South Africa, Hon. Cyril Ramaphosa, confirmed that the establishment of the Commission on The 4th Industrial Revolution will be concluded, soonest.
